OBJECTIVES

Tasks: The project tasks encompass three main phases: stocktaking and diagnostic, investment plan development, and implementation support planning. The first involves mapping current agribusiness practices, conducting stakeholder assessments including field surveys, and evaluating the institutional and financial mechanisms needed to scale up effective practices. The second focuses on prioritizing agribusinesses based on criteria such as readiness, productivity, profitability, export potential, sustainability, and alignment with NPC criteria. Finally, the project creates financial plan with appropriate funding instruments and framework for implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Methodology: Includes a literature review of relevant documents, value chain analysis of key agricultural value chains, stakeholder consultations with various actors, financial modeling to assess project viability, data analysis of collected information, development of a prioritization framework for value chains, detailed investment plan development, and the creation of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework.

Expected Impacts. In agribusiness, it aims to increase investment, improve efficiency and productivity, inform policy reforms, create jobs, enhance climate resilience, and promote sustainable practices and nature-based solutions. In finance, it seeks to develop innovative financial tools and increase access to finance for agribusinesses. Environmentally, the project aims to reduce carbon emissions from agriculture and improve ecosystem services through nature-based solutions.
