CVC and AESA to implement agricultural extension transformation as part of EU ZIRA3A, the EU’s Integrated Rural Development Program for Egypt (2025- Ongoing)

OBJECTIVES

Climate Vision Consulting (CVC) is proud to announce its partnership with the AESA–CIHEAM Bari Consortium to lead the agricultural extension transformation in Upper Egypt under the EU ZIRA3A program, the European Union’s Integrated Rural Development Program for Egypt.

The goal of this ambitious 30-month project (July 2025 – December 2027),is to modernize Egypt’s agricultural extension system through equipping farmers in the governorates of Sohag, Assiut and Beni Suef, with the tools they need to adapt to climate change, manage natural resources sustainably, and secure their rural livelihoods.

CVC’s Role: Driving Change on the Ground

As the lead Agricultural Extension Expert, CVC is responsible for the core technical delivery of the project. Our key responsibilities include:

Modernizing Agricultural Program: We will update and redesign extension programs for 10 key crops (including field, horticultural, and medicinal plants) to align with Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) principles.

Empowering Local Leaders: We will design and deliver a structured Training of Trainers (ToT) program for over 660 agricultural extension workers and leaders the three selected governorates, creating a network of skilled local experts.

Implementing Grassroots Extension Services: We will oversee the rollout of local services by establishing 150 Farmer Field Schools (FFSs) and 150 demonstration fields, providing hands-on, practical learning for farmers.

Ensuring Lasting Adoption: Our team will provide continuous supervision and support to extension agents and FFS facilitators to ensure the new techniques are successfully adopted and sustained long after the project ends.
